The Liverpool star is one of the club’s most important players.

Reds ace Philippe Coutinho was heavily linked with an exit from Anfield this summer, with Barcelona hovering around the skilful Brazilian, but Liverpool eventually highlighted their ambition by keeping hold of the mercurial forward, and he made a pledge to the club’s fans, when speaking to reporters, as quoted by the Liverpool Echo.
The 25-year-old has racked up a goal and an assist upon his return to Premier League action, as he continues his attempts to win back the faith of the Liverpool fans.
Coutinho spoke to reporters following his side’s disappointing 1-1 draw with Spartak Moscow on Tuesday, and made a promise to Reds fans for the season ahead, as quoted by the Liverpool Echo:

“I’m calm. It’s all passed by. I’m here to defend the colours, to give my maximum.”
The former Inter Milan man has been a stand-out performer for the Merseyside outfit, since moving to Anfield in January 2013, chipping in with 44 goals and 38 assists in 186 games for the club.

Whilst the Brazilian still has a long way to go if he is to re-earn the faith and support of the Liverpool fans, it will only take a few scintillating displays, or a wonder goal for him to have the Reds faithful fully back on side.
And where better to start than Newcastle away on Sunday.
