The Liverpool star has been linked with a move to La Liga giants Barcelona.
Philippe Coutinho’s former coach Rodney Goncalves has told the Telegraph that the Brazilian is eager to stay with Liverpool despite links to Barcelona.
The midfielder has been in fine form for Liverpool this season, with six goals in all competitions, playing a key role in their strong start to the campaign.
As a result, links to Barcelona have emerged, with Sport reporting this week that Luis Enrique’s side have made Coutinho a priority signing.
The Spanish publication claims that the Catalans believe the Liverpool star would be a perfect fit for the club, with the likes of Luis Suarez and Neymar both thought to be doing their best to convince him into the move.

That news will not be welcomed by Liverpool who would be loathe to lose their star man, but his former coach has good news in regards to his future.
“His ambition is to be in the list of the top 10 players [in the world],” Rodney Goncalves told the Telegraph.
“Whenever we speak, he always says that he is very happy at Liverpool and his biggest challenge is to win the Premier League and Champions League with Liverpool.”

It will certainly be interesting to see if Coutinho does end up leaving Liverpool at any point in the near future.
His star performances are unlikely to have gone unnoticed and talk of Barcelona, PSG and Real Madrid all being interested is not surprising.
Keeping hold of him is likely to be a tough ask but the comments from his former coach suggest a move is not in the midfielder’s thinking at this moment in time.
