Liverpool should sign Harry Maguire from Leicester City, suggests Phil Thompson.

Maguire has been one of the best players for England at the World Cup in Russia and has been superb at the back.
The 25-year-old defender has been solid and reliable in defence, and the former Sheffield United and Hull City star also scored against Sweden in the quarter-final tie.
Liverpool legend Thompson has suggested that the Reds should sign Maguire – who earns £40,000 per week as salary, according to Spotrac.com – from Premier League rivals Leicester in the summer transfer window.
Thompson told The Liverpool Echo: “I was saying long before the tournament started that he has all the attributes needed to be a Liverpool player.
“He’s big, he’s strong and positionally he’s very good whether as a two or a three at the back.
“He’s a lot quicker than people give him credit for. He dominates in the air and that’s a major asset both defensively and offensively.
“He’s also very comfortable on the ball. He’s better than John Stones when it comes to passing it out from the back.”

Good signing for Liverpool?
Maguire is a very good defender who has proved himself in the Premier League, and it would not be a bad idea for Liverpool to sign the England international in the summer transfer window.
Liverpool do need to strength their defence, as that was their weakness last season, and Maguire playing alongside Virgil van Dijk would make the Reds very solid at the back.
