The Liverpool legend made the comments while he was noting that Tottenham need to bring in better players and have to increase the salaries of their best footballers in order to compete for the Premier League title.

Thompson said on the Gillette Soccer Saturday show on Sky Sports Premier League this past Saturday afternoon (1:36pm, April 6, 2019): “I think Pochettino has levelled that at Daniel Levy, and he said, ‘Look, we have got to change things. It’s things like that, players we are bringing in, release the purse strings, give them better salaries to compete with the bigger boys’.”
