Sunderland were beaten 2-0 by West Bromwich Albion in their latest match.
Phil Thompson has told Soccer Saturday, which was broadcast on 21st January on Sky Sports, that Sunderland midfielder Sebastian Larsson’s set piece delivery was poor against West Bromwich Albion.
Sunderland fell to a 2-0 defeat at the Hawthorns, and they rarely threatened during the contest.
The Black Cats struggled to create much, and when they were given the opportunity to carve out an opening from free-kicks, Larsson let them down.

“I tell you what was really poor – Seb Larsson’s set plays,” Thompson said, as quoted by the Chronicle.
“Some of the set plays were absolutely awful. From out wide trying to get them in the box, to then trying a training ground routine which absolutely, about two or three times, just did not work.
“With set-pieces around the box you’ve got to put them in good areas and at least give your team-mates a chance.”
Sunderland never really got going against West Brom, and the match was all but over in the first half.

The Baggies took the lead through Darren Fletcher, before Chris Brunt blasted in a volley to double the host’s advantage.
Sunderland barely had a chance to get back into the match, with their struggles continuing.
Sunderland are now sat at the bottom of the Premier League table, three points adrift of safety.
The Black Cats are next in action in just over a week’s time, when they take on Tottenham Hotspur.
