Roberto Firmino has found the back of the net five times for Liverpool in the Premier League this season.
Phil Thompson has told Sky Sports News, which was broadcast on 9th November, that he thinks Liverpool forward Roberto Firmino has been ‘truly magnificent’ this season.
Firmino has become a key part of Jurgen Klopp’s attacking system, with the Brazilian being able to play in any of Liverpool’s front four positions.
Firmino’s ability to come deep and collect the ball, or run in behind defenders, makes him a very challenging opponent to mark.
And Thompson has been hugely impressed by the performances that the former Hoffenheim man has put in so far this season.
“Firmino has been truly magnificent,” Thompson said. “He has got so much, a gift with his feet.”
Firmino has notched five goals and claimed five assists in his 10 Premier League appearances to date, with Liverpool’s attack being very formidable.
The Reds are the top scorers in England’s top flight, after finding the back of the net 30 times in their first 11 matches.
Liverpool’s attacking play has seen them rise to the top of the Premier League table, with optimism rising at Anfield.
Liverpool are next in action after the international break, when they take on Southampton at St. Mary’s.
