Phil Thompson has told Sky Sports that West Ham United’s form is ‘a bit embarrassing’.

West Ham held Liverpool to a 1-1 draw on Monday evening, and put in a good performance at the London Stadium.

However, Manuel Pellegrini’s side have been inconsistent this term – and Thompson feels that West Ham’s failure to perform in every game is poor.

“Even with how poor West Ham have been, we knew they would roll up their sleeves and show their fans how good they are against the big boys,” the Soccer Saturday pundit said.

“It is a bit embarrassing how they turn up for the big games, like Manchester United and Arsenal too, and capitulate in some of the smaller games.”

West Ham were actually the better team for large portions of their game against Liverpool, even though they fell behind.

The Reds scored through Sadio Mane, but Michail Antonio scored a deserved equaliser, and the teams remained locked after that.

West Ham are now in 12th place in the Premier League table, and they could push into the top half with a win this weekend.

The Hammers are due to face Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park tomorrow, in what should be a hotly contested London derby.
