Liverpool legend Phil Thompson has waxed lyrical about Reds academy graduate Ben Doak.
The Anfield icon told The Herald that the 17-year-old is a ‘tremendous’ talent with a ‘wonderful’ attitude.
Doak has been making waves at Liverpool following his move from Celtic in March last year.

He quickly rose through the youth ranks and is now in and around the first-team.
Doak has made five senior appearances this season, including two in the Premier League.
Thompson, who has commentated on Liverpool youth games this season, is a big fan of the Scottish forward.
“What do I think of Ben Doak? Oh my goodness! What a player!” said the 69-year-old.
“I have done quite a few of the youth games for LFCTV and every time I have seen him he has been outstanding.
“One of the great things about Ben is that he just loves football. He has got a wonderful attitude.
“But he is aggressive and for a forward that is a great attribute to have.
“He has also got unbelievable pace, he can provide assists and he has got goals in him.
“You just look at him and think: ‘Wow!’ He has had such a rapid rise to fame this season.
“He has played in the first team this season, which is quite astonishing.
“I just hope he has got a nice feel for it because he is a tremendous talent.”

Our view
Doak has been one of the shining lights of Liverpool’s underwhelming campaign this season, alongside Stefan Bajcetic.
The Reds have a lot of work to do in the transfer window this summer to get their squad up to speed.
However, in Doak and Bajcetic, they have two talented, reliable youngsters who look like they have a great future.
Obviously Jurgen Klopp shouldn’t – and won’t – place too much pressure and responsibility on them just yet.
The key thing is that, over the coming year or two, they can continue developing and learning from the best at Anfield.
They’ve shown they have what it takes to impress at senior level, and it’ll be exciting to see how they progress further.
