Burton Albion and Sunderland will face each other in the Championship this weekend.

Liverpool legend Phil Thompson predicted on the Sky Sports Daily show on Sky Sports News on Friday morning (11:18am, November 24, 2017) that the game between Burton Albion and Sunderland this weekend will end in a draw.

Burton will face Sunderland at home in the Championship at the Pirelli Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

Thompson said on the Sky Sports Daily show on Sky Sports News on Friday morning (11:18am, November 24, 2017): “Both sides need a victory and they are both not going to get one, I am afraid. I have gone for a 0-0. I don’t think it will do either of the sides any good.”

Burton are third from bottom in the Championship table at the moment with 14 points from 18 matches.

Nigel Clough’s side are just a point behind 21st-placed Birmingham City and are in danger of getting relegated to League One at the end of the season.

The Brewers will head into the game against Sunderland on the back of a 1-1 draw with Brentford away from home at Griffin Park in the Championship.

Meanwhile, Sunderland are currently at the foot of the league table with 11 points from 18 matches.

The Black Cats will head into the match against Burton on the back of a 2-1 defeat to Aston Villa away from home at Villa Park in the Championship.
