West Ham United attacking midfielder Manuel Lanzini has particularly impressed Phil Thompson.

West Ham have made an impressive start to the new campaign, with Manuel Pellegrini’s side looking particularly good going forward.
West Ham’s attacking quartet of Sebastian Haller, Felipe Anderson and Andriy Yarmolenko and Manuel Lanzini have proven a major threat.
And Thompson believes that comparisons can be made between West Ham’s front line and Liverpool’s from a few years ago, with Lanzini performing the role which Coutinho did at Anfield.
“I will go with West Ham,” he said, when asked which team had surprised him the most in the Premier League this season.
“They have always been a bit unpredictable. I really like the forward line if they can keep them fit. Sebastian Haller, Felipe Anderson and Andriy Yarmolenko are all threatening, and then you have to take into account Manuel Lanzini. It takes you back to Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino and Philippe Coutinho – West Ham have Lanzini as their fourth, just like Liverpool did.
“It is an attacking and potent side.”

West Ham are currently sat in eighth place in the Premier League table, although they were beaten in their last match before the international break.
The Hammers lost 2-1 to Crystal Palace in front of their own supporters, in what was a highly disappointing result.
West Ham will be looking to return to winning ways at the weekend, when they take on Everton.
