Christian Eriksen is a very important player for Tottenham Hotspur.

Christian Eriksen of Tottenham Hotspur arrives during a training session ahead of their UEFA Champions League Semi Final first leg match against Ajax on April 29, 2019 in Enfield, England.

Liverpool legend Phil Thompson spoke highly of Tottenham Hotspur attacking midfielder Christian Eriksen on the Gillette Soccer Saturday show on Sky Sports News on Saturday afternoon (12:09pm, April 27, 2019).

The former Liverpool central defender has highlighted Eriksen’s versatility, and believes that players like the Denmark international are becoming less and less.

The Sky Sports pundit has also pointed out that the Liverpool midfielders do not score as many goals as the 27-year-old does.

Thompson said about Eriksen on the Gillette Soccer Saturday show on Sky Sports News on Saturday afternoon (12:09pm, April 27, 2019): “What is he? Is he like a midfield player, or is he a number 10 or is he right-sided or left-sided?

“You don’t know with Eriksen, his position and what he does in football, goalscoring attacking midfield player. It’s absolutely precious, and they seem to be becoming less and less in the game.

“Yes, we see in Manchester City, but my own side Liverpool, none has that amount of goals from the midfield three, but with him, my goodness, he does that all the time.”
