Liverpool legend Phil Thompson said on the Gillette Soccer Saturday show on Sky Sports News last Saturday afternoon (12pm, September 16, 2017) that Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane is world class.

The former Liverpool central defender also claimed that if Kane continues to score goals like he has done for the past three seasons, then he could be signed by the likes of Real Madrid and Barcelona.

“I think he is,” said Thompson on the Gillette Soccer Saturday show on Sky Sports News last Saturday afternoon (12pm, September 16, 2017) when asked if Kane is world class.

“When you look at him, his goalscoring when he is on, I know he had this (barren spell) in August, but his performances were still top quality.”

“He goes on like this, we talk about players going to be poached, he will be massive for the Real Madrids and the Barcelonas because he is that good,” added Thompson about Kane. “This fellow is a truly terrific player.”

Kane has been in stunning form for the past three years and is one of the best strikers in the world.

The 24-year-old England international striker has won the Premier League Golden Boot for the past two seasons.

Harry Kane of Tottenham celebrates scoring to make it 1-0 during the pre-season match between Tottenham Hotspur and Juventus at Wembley Stadium on August 5, 2017 in London, England.

Given the consistency with which the Englishman has scored in what is one of the toughest and most domestic leagues in the world, Kane has to considered among the top strikers in the world.

Could Spanish giants Madrid and Barcelona came calling? If Kane continues to score goals on a regular basis for Tottenham in the next two or so years, then the European powerhouses could knock on Spurs’ door for the striker, which is worrying for the North London club’s fans.
