Liverpool legend Phil Thompson suggests that Everton defender Leighton Baines is lacking the legs.

Baines has been on the books of Everton since the summer of 2007 when he joined from Wigan Athletic for an initial transfer fee of £5 million, as reported by BBC Sport.
The England international is a key player in the Toffees’ team and is a leader at the back for the Merseyside outfit.

Now 32, the left-back is hugely experienced, but former Liverpool centre-back Thompson has suggested that Baines does not have the legs to run up and down the left touchline.
“Baines is still probably one of their better players, but he has still not got the legs to get up and down that left touchline, supply as many crosses,” said Thompson on the Gillette Soccer Saturday show on Sky Sports News on Saturday afternoon (12pm, September 16, 2017).
Meanwhile, Southampton legend Matt Le Tissier has suggested that Everton manager Ronald Koeman has publicly criticised the players due to frustrations over recent games.

“No, they don’t do it too often, but I think three frustrating games in a row, I think, has led him to come out and criticise the players,” said Le Tissier on the Gillette Soccer Saturday show on Sky Sports News on Saturday afternoon (12pm, September 16, 2017).
Everton will take on Manchester United at Old Trafford in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.
