Phil Thompson thinks that Tottenham Hotspur need a forward just like Liverpool do and could also do with new full-backs.

The Liverpool legend has also suggested that Tottenham should strengthen their full-back positions.
Thompson told Sky Sports: “I think they need a bit of strengthening all around, maybe in the full-back areas. There is talk of Christian Eriksen leaving, who is their creative influence. That would be a big blow to Tottenham.
“I think Fernando Llorente could move on too as he will want more game time, so it is similar to Liverpool – they will need a decent forward to work alongside or perhaps off Harry Kane.
“They need to beef up the quality of their squad. They have 14/15 that are decent but they must bulk up with quality rather than quantity.”

Sound advice
Tottenham have a good squad, but the North London outfit do need to freshen it up a bit and add new faces.
Spurs did not sign a single player in the summer of 2018 or in January 2019, and it is imperative that they make new additions this summer.
Harry Kane is the first-choice striker at Tottenham, and it will not be easy for manager Mauricio Pochettino to convince a top-class striker to come to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and essentially be a back-up.
Liverpool could also do with a forward, but it is hard to see how any player could dislodge any of the front three.
Premier League rivals Tottenham and Liverpool will face each other in the final of the Champions League in Madrid on June 1.
