Wesley Moraes and John McGinn were in action for Aston Villa against Bournemouth at the weekend.

The Liverpool legend was not impressed with the performance of Wesley for Villa against Bournemouth at Villa Park in the Premier League at the weekend.
Wesley started the match and played for the entire 90 minutes, and the 22-year-old forward failed to make a huge impact upfront.
According to WhoScored, the Brazilian forward – who joined Villa from Club Brugge in the summer transfer window – took two shots, had a pass accuracy of 60%, won three headers, made one clearance, and played one key pass.
Thompson was not impressed with Wesley, but the Sky Sports pundit did praise the forward’s Villa teammate John McGinn.
The 24-year-old Scotland international midfielder went close twice with superb efforts against Bournemouth and was the player who was driving Dean Smith’s side forward.
Thompson said on Sky Sports Football (5:37pm, August 17, 2019): “John McGinn, I think, could be a star because he has got a great left foot, could have had a couple of goals today.”
Thompson added about Wesley: “The centre-forward that they paid money for, Wesley, was nowhere to be seen, trying to get any goals.”
Villa will be disappointed with the defeat to Bournemouth at the weekend, and they will have to bounce back in style next season.
