Aston Villa midfielder Jack Grealish has been linked with a move away from Villa Park recently.

Phil Parkinson of Bolton Wanderers looks on prior to the Sky Bet Championship match between Bolton Wanderers and Bristol City at Macron Stadium on February 2, 2018 in Bolton, England.

Phil Parkinson has admitted to the Bolton News that he has heard the rumours about Jack Grealish leaving Aston Villa in January.

Villa fought hard to keep hold of Grealish in the summer, but it seems that the rumour mill is picking up pace again, ahead of the transfer window reopening in 2019.

And Parkinson admits that he has heard that Grealish could leave Villa at the next opportunity.

Bolton are due to face the Villans tonight though, which means that Parkinson will still have to draw up plans to stop the playmaker for now.

And the Trotters boss said: “Jack is a very talented player and there’s talk of him going.

“The shape they play will determine how we go about stopping him but we’ll make our team aware of the strengths and weaknesses of the opposition and their key players.

“It’s important that when he gets the ball we get around him quickly because he has got that ability in that final third.”

Grealish has been heavily linked with a move to Tottenham Hotspur, but his form has dipped this season.

The youngster has struggled to find the back of the net, and even the appointment of Dean Smith does not seem to have sparked him into life.

Villa are currently on the back of a two match losing streak, which means that Smith is under pressure to pick up the three points against Bolton this evening.

If Villa do beat struggling Bolton then they will move up to 13th in the Championship table.
