Liverpool’s current number one Loris Karius is coming in for criticism once again this week.
Phil Neville has told Match of the Day he thinks Liverpool missed a trick by not signing Joe Hart in the summer transfer window.
The Reds added to their goalkeeping department in the summer transfer window when they brought in Loris Karius from Mainz.
The German has established himself as the number one at Anfield since then, replacing Simon Mignolet in the process.
However, doubts remain over him, with the last two weeks seeing him come in for serious criticism for disappointing performances.

Many have questioned whether he is the answer for Jurgen Klopp’s team long-term and Neville says he believes somebody different should have been signed.
“I don’t think there’s much to choose between Karius or Mignolet,” he told Match of the Day.
“I think they’re both pretty equal in terms of the qualities that they have, so it’s a real tough decision.”
“I look back at the start of the season when Joe Hart went to Torino and I thought ‘if Liverpool sign Joe Hart then they probably have a fantastic chance of winning the league.’”

At this moment in time it is fair to say that Hart would have been the better signing for Liverpool in the summer.
Karius has struggled to impress while the England number one has found his feet with Torino in Serie A.
However, it is likely the Reds are hoping Karius will develop into a better goalkeeper over time, much like David de Gea did with Manchester United, and that was the logic behind their choosing Karius.
