Wayne Rooney made his second competitive debut for Everton on Thursday night.
Phil Neville has claimed on Twitter that Wayne Rooney posted a “world class” performance on his second debut for Everton last night.
Everton edged out Ruzomberok 1-0 at Goodison Park as Ronald Koeman’s side took one step closer to the group stages of the Europa League.

Leighton Baines was the hero for the Toffees as his 65th-minute winner gave the Merseysiders the victory on a night which saw four of Koeman’s pre-season recruits make their debuts.
Cuco Martina, Michael Keane, Davy Klaassen and Rooney all made their competitive bows for Everton, and Neville says he was particularly impressed with the latter.
Rooney re-joined Everton this summer as striker Romelu Lukaku headed the other way.
He returns a hero, having become Manchester United and England’s all-time record goalscorer since leaving the Blues in 2004, and his experience is likely to be key as he tries to help Everton into the Champions League next season.
