Phil Neville has labelled Harry Kane as ‘the best striker in the world at this moment’ following Tottenham Hotspur’s 5-0 win over Bournemouth on Boxing Day at Wembley.

The former Manchester United defender was also full of praise for the ‘brilliant’ Mauricio Pochettino and the ‘great set of players’ he has at his disposal in north London.

Spurs have won five Premier League games on the bounce, scoring 17 goals in the process, which has taken them into second place in the table – six points behind leaders Liverpool and one point ahead of Manchester City.

After scoring six goals at Everton over the weekend, Spurs put five past Eddie Howe’s Bournemouth on Wednesday afternoon and Neville couldn’t help but rave about Kane, Pochettino and the team as a whole.

“Brilliant manager, brilliantly coached, great set of players [who are] full of confidence,” Neville told BBC’s Match of the Day programme on 26/12/2018 at 10:35 pm.

“Harry Kane, I think is the best striker in the world at this moment in time and they are a team that is playing full of confidence.”

At this moment in time, Spurs are in every domestic and European competition, which gives Pochettino a great chance of lifting his first piece of silverware with the club.

Pochettino’s side will take on Chelsea in a two-legged Carabao Cup semi-final next month, whilst they will also begin their FA Cup campaign against Tranmere at the start of January.

Striker Kane has played a big part in that, the Englishman has played 26 games in all competitions, scoring 16 goals and supplying five assists – 12 of his strikes have come in the Premier League.
