The defender joined Everton from Swansea City this summer.

Speaking to BT Sport, Everton captain Phil Jagielka has claimed that summer signing Ashley Williams makes his own job easier.
Williams arrived at the club this summer as one of five new players signed by manager Ronald Koeman.
He has been added as a direct replacement for John Stones, who made a big money move to Manchester City.
It is hoped the Welsh international can add some much needed defensive steel to a Blues defence that seriously struggled under former boss Roberto Martinez in the last two seasons.

So far it has been a strong start for him with two clean sheets under his belt and Jagielka has been impressed saying he makes his own job easier.
“He has only played two games but on paper two clean sheets,” he told BT Sport.
“It is nice to have another voice out there. It is nice to have players on the pitch who aren’t scared to help their teammates out. It makes your own job easier.”

It now remains to be seen if Williams proves enough to solve Everton’s defensive issues this season.
It is fair to say that the last two years has seen their defence come in for stern criticism, with many believing that weak centre was the main failing of the Roberto Martinez reign.
If the Wales international can help to solve that, then he could prove to be one of the signings of the summer.
