It’s been an exciting week at Leeds United, with Andrea Radrizzani selling an increased part of his stake in the club to the San Francisco 49ers.

Speculation about ownership at Leeds is nothing new, there have been non-stop links to QSI over the past 18 months, while the 49ers have always been lurking in the background as well.

Of course, all of these rumours have led to speculation about Andrea Radrizzani’s time at the club and whether or not his time as chairman is coming to an end.

A report in The Athletic by Phil Hay has detailed what senior staff at the club think the Italian’s future at Elland Road looks like and when he’s likely to be leaving.

Senior staff at Leeds think he will be involved until he gets Leeds United back playing European football, which is something he has targeted in the next five years, so he may not be at Elland Road for that much longer.

No matter when Radrizzani leaves the club, he will certainly leave a massive legacy at Leeds, he changed the culture of the side when they were at one of their lowest ebbs, and he’s the man who finally led them back to the Premier League.

It seems as though Radrizzani will be at Leeds at least until he’s achieved his goal of getting European football, and from there we’ll see what happens, whether a QSI takeover finally comes to fruition or the 49ers acquire an even bigger stake.

Those types of moves may still be years away at this point, but it is interesting to note that senior staff at Leeds are already thinking about life after Radrizzani.
