Speaking on his podcast, Athletic journalist Phil Hay has claimed that Leeds will definitely be signing a new left-back this summer.
The Whites have been linked with left-backs for quite some time now, with the likes of Romain Perraud and Yasser Larouci linked, and it seems as though that is an area Victor Orta is actively looking to improve.
The journalist also claimed that the club also plan to sign a couple of midfielders.
“We will see a sizeable number, or at least a decent chunk. I’m absolutely certain that they will go for a left-back,” Hay said.
“It’s gotten to the point where they need an out and out left-back, a real specialist in that position, they will try to get some cover for Kalvin Phillips and I do expect them to go for a midfielder further up the pitch, whether that’s an 8 or a 10 or some kind of hybrid.”

This is certainly an exciting update to say the least.
Leeds have looked solid in their first season back in the Premier League, but there have been a few positions that they clearly need to improve upon, and it seems as though they plan on doing just that.
Who this left-back ends up being remains to be seen, but Hay is usually bang on the money with this type of thing, so it’s worth keeping an eye out for any developments on that front.
Fingers crossed United manage to get the right man through the door.
