Leeds United aren’t expected to be busy in this January transfer window, but as ever, they’ve got plans for the summer.

Indeed, writing in The Athletic, Phil Hay has already claimed that Victor Orta has a list of targets drawn up for the summer window, and he’s outlined the two markets that Leeds will be trying to exploit.

Despite Brexit regulations making it more difficult to sign European talent and easier to sign players from further afield, Leeds plan on sticking to the transfer strategy that served them well in 2020.

Indeed, Hay says that Leeds will be looking to target players from the UK and European market, despite Brexit regulations making it tougher to sign players from Europe in certain instances.

It seems as though Leeds won’t be looking towards the South American market this summer, despite consistently being linked to players from Marcelo Bielsa’s home continent seemingly every transfer window.

It will certainly be interesting to watch Leeds operate in the market next summer after making such a splash upon their promotion to the Premier League.

With United well on course to secure Premier League survival, we could see another summer of spending at Elland Road from Victor Orta and his recruitment team.
