Phil Foden says Euro 2024 star Tottenham Hotspur advancing to try and sign is ‘unbelievable’

Phil Foden is currently finding life tough with England at this summer’s European Championships.

Gareth Southgate made some tough calls before the tournament kicked off, including not picking a single Tottenham Hotspur player.

Usually, Harry Kane is that man for Spurs, but of course, he secured a transfer to Bayern Munich last summer. 

Many at Hotspur Way were hoping James Maddison would get picked, but he was left out of England’s final 26-man squad.

There can’t be many complaints from the quick-thinking playmaker because his form in Tottenham colours faded away during the second half of the campaign.

No Upcoming Fixtures

That saw in-form players being picked ahead of him, including Crystal Palace’s quick-moving wizard, Eberechi Eze.

Graham Bailey is reporting that Tottenham are advancing in their attempts to sign a creative talent, with Eze on their wishlist. 

For those who know him best, they think that he is ‘unbelievable’ because those are the words of the best player in the Premier League right now, Phil Foden, as he told England’s official YouTube account.

The Manchester City playmaker was picking a five-a-side time of North v South, alongside Chelsea’s Conor Gallagher, when Eze’s name was brought up.

“Ez is unbelievable, wow,” said Foden. “In five v five as well.”

You could certainly see him fitting in and it’s going to be interesting to see just how far they push for his signature.

Spurs have Maddison, but they can’t just rely on him and Postecoglou’s ultra-attacking system needs more players of flair.

Eze would do wonders in that type of team, not forgetting that he would also be playing in Europe for the first time in his career.
