Speaking to Amazon, Phil Foden has been giving his honest verdict on Liverpool and Jurgen Klopp.

Foden was asked to answer some quickfire questions on the Amazon YouTube channel, and inevitably, the Manchester City star was asked about the club’s biggest rivals, Liverpool.

The Reds and City have dominated this era of English football, winning each of the last five Premier League titles between them while also picking up their fair share of domestic and European cups.

Foden has had some serious battles against Liverpool over the years, and it seems as though the youngster has great respect for the club and their manager, stating that they’re a dangerous team, labelling Jurgen Klopp as ‘great’.

What’s been said?

Foden gave his opinion on Liverpool.

“I mean, Liverpool are always a dangerous team, they have a great manager and they’re so dangerous as a team. Not only just them, there are a lot of teams who have strengthened, so who knows? It should be a great season,” Foden said.

Thorn in the side

Liverpool have been a real thorn in the side of Manchester City for years at this point.

The Reds have prevented City from being absolutely dominant in the Premier League over the past half-decade, and their competitiveness at a domestic level has undoubtedly affected City’s ability to compete in Europe.

Sometimes, you just have to hold your hands up and give credit where it’s due, and that’s exactly what Foden has done here.

Yes, some players wouldn’t dare to say a good word about their biggest rivals, but it’s impossible for either City or Liverpool to not carry at least some level of admiration for the other team.

Foden would probably prefer it if Liverpool weren’t so brilliant, but the Reds have provided some much-needed and healthy competition to City in the Pep Guardiola-era.
