West Ham United are believed to have a strong interest in loaning Manchester City youngster Phil Foden following Manuel Pellegrini’s appointment.

According to the Daily Mail, Phil Foden is a concrete transfer target of West Ham United, and if the Manchester City youngster does arrive at the London Stadium he could have the potential to light it up.

West Ham realistically know that they will only be able to sign Foden on loan, but even so, the addition of the 18-year-old would be hugely exciting.

Foden is regarded as one of the finest young talents in world football, and he could thrive in Pellegrini’s West Ham side.

Pellegrini has already promised to play an attacking style at West Ham, which could see Foden linking up with Marko Arnautovic and Manuel Lanzini.

Foden has the ability to glide past opposition defenders, and he also has a superb weight of pass.

The prospect needs to get games under his belt, but if West Ham do manage to sign him up, he could become a real talisman for Pellegrini’s side next season – despite his young years.
