Tottenham fans have taken to Twitter to react after the Evening Standard revealed that Serge Aurier is expected to be fit to face Manchester City.

The Evening Standard‘s Dan Kilpatrick states that the Ivory Coast international requires an assessment prior to kick-off.

However, Kilpatrick seems confident enough that Aurier will be fit, as he includes him in his predicted starting XI.

This is a big boost for the north Londoners, and for Jose Mourinho.

Without the former Paris Saint-Germain full-back, Tottenham would’ve had just Matt Doherty to choose from at right-back against the Citizens.

The Republic of Ireland international is a good player, don’t get us wrong.

However, he suffered a bit of a nightmare in the 5-4 defeat against Everton – as did the entire backline, to be fair.

It was Doherty was allowed Bernard to ghost in behind him to score Everton’s fifth goal, which turned out to be the winner.

Perhaps that is why the Tottenham fans below are so happy about the news regarding Aurier’s fitness.

Regardless of who Mourinho chooses to start, it’s good news that the ex-Chelsea boss should have another option back at his disposal.

Let’s see what they’ve been saying about the Evening Standard‘s news…
