Chelsea winger Angelo Gabriel has raved about his teammate Enzo Fernandez on Instagram.

Angelo Gabriel has described his Chelsea teammate Enzo Fernandez as a “phenomenon”.

Both Angelo and Fernandez featured for Chelsea in their pre-season friendly match against Brighton and Hove Albion this weekend.

Argentina international midfielder Fernandez, who won the 2022 Qatar World Cup, came on as a substitute in the 62nd minute.

Angelo replaced England international attacker Raheem Sterling on 62 minutes.

Chelsea won the match 4-3.

Christopher Nkunku, Mykhailo Mudryk, Conor Gallagher and Nicolas Jackson scored the goals for Mauricio Pochettino’sside.

Enzo Fernandez could explode at Chelsea next season

In our opinion, Enzo Fernandez could explode at Chelsea next season.

The 22-year-old has not had the best of times at the Blues so far, but we think that the midfielder could make a huge impact next season.

Fernandez moved to Chelsea from Benfica in the January transfer window.

Chelsea paid Benfica £106.8 million in transfer fees for the midfielder (Sky Sports).

The £315,000-a-week (Spotrac) midfielder was one of the best players for Argentina at the 2022 Qatar World Cup.

Chelsea fans would have expected the 22-year-old to star for the team during the second half of last season.

Although Fernandez played well on occasions, he was not at his best consistently.

The youngster made 18 appearances in the Premier League for the Blues.

Fernandez gave two assists in those games.

We believe that under new Chelsea head coach Mauricio Pochettino, Fernandez could flourish at the Blues.

Chelsea as a club had a really bad season in 2022-23, and things can only get better now.

After a good pre-season, Fernandez could be ready to make his impact at Chelsea, and we could see him get back to the form he showed for Benfica and for Argentina.
