Rio Ferdinand has stated that Tottenham Hotspur forward, Heung-Min Son, is a ‘phenomenal’ player, as he told Vibe with Five.

The Premier League legend added that Son is ‘baaaaaad’ in a positive way and a player that he just loves watching.

On Saturday, the 29-year-old scored a hat-trick against Aston Villa to further boost his side’s chances of securing Champions League football.

Under Antonio Conte, Tottenham have been ruthless and efficient, with Son, ahead of Harry Kane, leading that charge when it comes to the goals.

Whilst his record-breaking partner has 12 Premier League strikes this season, the South Korean is sitting on 17 – three behind the Premier League’s current leader, Mo Salah.

That’s some going for Tottenham’s £22 million man (Guardian), as Ferdinand raved about the player.

“He’s bad (in a positive way),” said Ferdinand. “I love him. Is Son world-class? (the ex-Man United star asked his fellow host who previously stated Man City’s Sterling isn’t world-class). And Sterling isn’t?!

“He (Son) is bad. I think he’s baaaaad – Son is nasty. Phenomenal. I love him.

“But I can’t get the fact that he’s world-class and Sterling isn’t. That’s my point.”

Son has been one of the most underrated players during the Premier League era and someone who will go down in legendary status in north London.

A lot of talk is about Kane needing a trophy to add to his glittering record in English football.

Well, someone like Son, who is on 87 Premier League goals and nearing that 100 mark, is another player you can add to that list.

There have been many great players that have never won England’s top-flight and, at this rate, Son is someone who is near the top of that list.
