Declan Rice wanted to move back to Chelsea initially, but the West Ham United midfielder is now keen on a transfer to Arsenal, according to a report.
Football Transfers are reporting today that Declan Rice initially wanted to go back to Chelsea from West Ham United in the summer transfer window.
The England international midfielder was at the Chelsea academy before he joined West Ham back in 2014.
Rice, though, now feels that “Arsenal is the best move for his career as Mikel Arteta’s side are better placed to win trophies” and will play in the Champions League next season, according to the report.

There is speculation that Arsenal have made a bid of £80 million for Declan Rice, who himself is keen on a move to the Emirates Stadium in the summer transfer window.
We do not think that Chelsea should waste time now in trying to persuade Rice – described as “phenomenal” by his former West Ham teammate Mark Noble in The Manchester Evening News in May – to make the move to Stamford Bridge this summer.
If the 24-year-old has already made a U-turn over a potential transfer, then it is hard to see him change his mind now.
