James McFadden has praised Leeds United forward Sam Greenwood on BBC Sport for his goal against Bournemouth at Elland Road in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.

Greenwood scored for Leeds in the 60th minute of the Premier League match against Bournemouth at home today.

The 20-year-old forward found the back of the net with a curling effort after Pascal Struijk’s shot was blocked.

And former Everton forward and BBC Sport pundit McFadden was impressed.

Praise for Leeds United forward Sam Greenwood v Bournemouth

McFadden said: “Greenwood just steps onto it with his side foot from about 20 yards and whips it beyond Travers in the Bournemouth goal. Absolutely no chance with it.

“What a goal from Leeds United and they are well back in this game now.

“What composure to execute it, it was a bouncing ball. To step on to it and whip it with the power he did, phenomenal!”

Exciting talent

In our opinion, Sam Greenwood is one of the best young forwards in the Premier League and is an important player for Leeds United.

The former Arsenal youngster is not guaranteed a place in the Leeds starting lineup, but he does contribute when he comes on as a substitute.

As he did against Bournemouth at Elland Road in the Premier League today.

Greenwood is unlikely to become a regular in the Leeds starting lineup anytime soon, as the likes of Patrick Bamford and Rodrigo are ahead of him in the pecking order.

But we think that the English youngster is progressing well and is already an important player for the team.
