Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has been blown away by Martin Odegaard, judging by his comments on Arsenal’s official website.
Odegaard joined Arsenal from Real Madrid in the summer, and he has quickly become an important part of their first-team.
Although the 22-year-old may not have hit top gear on the pitch yet, Arteta has been very impressed by the way that he has settled in at the Emirates.
And Arteta actually waxed lyrical about the playmaker when asked for an update on his progress at his press conference.
“I’m really happy with him,” Arteta said. “I think he’s settled really, really quickly into the team and with what we demand from the players.
“His behaviour, his attitude and his work rate has been phenomenal. He’s had better moments than others to give us the special qualities he has, but overall I’m really happy with him.”
Arteta’s words may offer encouragement that Arsenal will look to make Odegaard’s move permanent in the summer.

There has been much speculation over whether Odegaard could stick around at the Emirates Stadium, but the Gunners have not officially commented over their plan as yet.
Odegaard has already racked up eight appearances since arriving at Arsenal, but is yet to contribute with a goal or an assist.
The youngster could well be in action against tomorrow, when Arteta’s side face Olympiacos in the Europa League.
