Arsenal fans have taken to Twitter to react after Thomas Partey uploaded an update onto his Instagram account.

What did he share?

Well, the £45 million man posted a blank screen with the words ‘is mine from now’ in what was a very cryptic message.

Partey added the No.5 to his post, which some supporters seemed to think was an announcement of him taking the No.5 shirt from Sokratis.

However, it’s all very unclear.

Partey wrote ‘TAS’ and then ‘TA5’ – Football London’s Chris Wheatley then tweeted to say his post had nothing to do with shirt numbers.

As a result, we’re completely baffled.

Partey wore No.5 at Atlético Madrid, and Chris Wheatley then wrote in a separate tweet that the Ghanaian is likely to wear the number next season.

So, what was the midfielder’s original Instagram post about then?

The number five’s involvement makes sense, but the use of the letters ‘TAS’ and ‘TA’ are really throwing us off.

As far as the comments go, the Arsenal fans are happy to believe he was just announcing his new shirt number ahead of the 2021/22 season.

2021/22 could be Thomas Partey’s year

As is often the case, foreign players can take a while to adjust to the unique nature of the Premier League.

Each game is unbelievably demanding, and Partey himself struggled with injuries after his arrival at the Emirates Stadium.

Now, with a proper pre-season under his belt, we’ll hopefully get to see the best of the 28-year-old under Mikel Arteta next term.

For now, let’s see what they’ve been saying on Twitter about Partey’s Instagram post…
