Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with Fiorentina midfielder Milan Badelj in the summer transfer window.

Badelj has been on the books of Italian club Fiorentina since the summer of 2014 when he joined from German side Hamburg.
The 29-year-old’s current contract with the Serie A outfit runs out at the end of the season, and the Croatia international would be a good and smart signing for Tottenham on a free.
The defensive midfielder’s current Fiorentina teammate, 26-year-old central defender German Pezzella (on loan from Real Betis at the moment), though, has suggested that he wants him to remain at the Stadio Artemio Franchi.

Calciomercato.com quotes Pezzella as saying about Badelj: ”The other day I told him, ‘look how good you have it here’.
“He smiled at me. However, certain decisions need to be taken with a cool head, only he knows what is best for his future.”

Lure of the Premier League
Badelj is a good midfielder, and the lure of the Premier League could be too tempting for him to resist.
True, Fiorentina are a massive club, but playing for Spurs would mean that the 29-year-old would get to challenge for the Premier League title and compete in the Champions League for a regular basis.
