The Tottenham Hotspur goalie has extended his loan spell at London Road.
Peterborough United chairman Darragh MacAnthony has been commenting on getting a loan extension done for Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Luke McGee – but admitted that he cost him a fortune.
McGee joined the Posh on loan in the summer and has been an integral part of the League One team throughout the current campaign.
Tottenham’s Luke McGee warms up
With his loan deal expiring in the winter Peterborough’s chairman might have been looking at a January hunt for a new stopper.
But he has instead managed to extend the deal and tweeted after confirming the news that he did not come cheap:
Now it is likely the fee involved is not an amount that would shock Spurs fans, with the millions they have to spend on players, but at a tight-run ship that MacAnthony must run at London Road the budget is much smaller.
It is therefore a testament to the talents of Spurs’ young goalie that the Posh chairman was willing to dig deep to secure his services for the rest of the season.
Tottenham fans will hope he can continue to impress in League One.
