Leeds are expected to be majorly busy this summer.
Peterborough chairman Darragh MacAnthony has informed fans on Twitter that the club have received offers for midfielder Chris Forrester, and Leeds United should be one of those interested in the midfielder’s services.
The 25-year-old midfielder has shown once again this season just how influential he can be from the middle of the park, starring for the Posh in his 38 league and cup appearances this season.
Known for his quick turn of pace in midfield, Forrester boasts an intricate array of passing but most impressively an unwavering degree of stamina that allows him to excel from the first minute until the 90th.
Forrester, who was captain of the League One side until 2017, even showed a creative side to his game this season, creating five goals in assists in crucial wins over Wigan, Bury and Oldham.
Leeds need a central midfielder who can take the side by the scruff of the neck and provide somewhat of an engine room to break down opponent attacks, but also the creativity and passing to start attacks of their own from deep.
MacAnthony confirmed on Twitter that the club had received offers for the midfielder, when asked by a fan.
Eunan O’Kane has struggled, while consistency has been issue for Kalvin Phillips and Ronald Vieira. Adam Forshaw has been injured, while Mateusz Klich and Yosuke Ideguchi are yet to show why they were brought to Elland Road.
Landing Forrester, who the Scottish Sun claim is interesting Aberdeen, would give Leeds the midfield energy they need to finally push towards the top six of the Championship and regain a place back in the Premier League.
With only a year remaining on his current contract, a deal to sign the midfielder would surely be achievable.
