Sunderland face life in League One next season.

Sunderland hope that their spell in League One will be short lived and they can bounce straight back to the Championship.
This will be easier said than done, with a long 46-game season awaiting them in 2018/19.
They hoped that they could quickly escape the Championship last season, and while they did, it was at the wrong end.

Chairman of new League One competitors Peterborough United, Darragh MacAnthony, says that he believes the Black Cats will quickly be able to turn it around.
Asked on Twitter, MacAnthony says he believes Sunderland will win promotion next season.
Sunderland will hope he is right, and after two depressing seasons of losing games, fans certainly need to feel what it is like to win games again and be dominant.
The club’s new owners have expressed their desire to spend big and while this will increase the pressure on the Black Cats, it also should put them at a level where many cash-strapped League One sides cannot compete.
