Bournemouth confirmed on their official website on Friday evening that they have snapped up midfielder Lewis Cook from Leeds United.
The Cherries had already snapped up Nathan Ake, Emerson Hyndman and Lys Mousset, but made arguably their biggest move of the summer by landing Cook.
The 19-year-old midfielder has become a star at Leeds having come up through the ranks at Elland Road, with 75 appearances for the club over the last two seasons.
An England regular at youth level, Cook has been tipped for stardom, with many of the Premier League’s biggest clubs linked with moves for him over the last year – but it’s Bournemouth who have managed to land him.
The Guardian report that the deal will eventually reach a value worth £10m, with Bournemouth paying up to land one of English football’s top young talents.
Cook’s departure is a huge blow for Leeds though, with fans understandably upset as a homegrown star has left the club – and now, Peterborough United chairman Darragh MacAnthony has had his say on the transfer.

MacAnthony, who regularly interacts with Leeds fans on Twitter, suggested that it’s good business from Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe to land a ‘terrific talent’ – but thinks it’s a major shame for Leeds to lose Cook ahead of the new Championship season.
