Peter Reid has taken to Twitter to give his reaction to Everton’s win against Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday evening, and has praised Allan for his performance.
Everton have kicked off their 2020-21 Premier League campaign with a 1-0 win against Tottenham away from home at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s brilliant headed goal 10 minutes into the second half proved to be the difference between the two sides.
Former Everton defensive midfielder Reid was following the match, and he is overjoyed with the final result.
Reid has also praised Allan for his performance for Everton in what was his first competitive match for the Toffees.
According to WhoScored, the 29-year-old central midfielder had a pass accuracy of 83.6%, took 73 touches, attempted one dribble, made four tackles, two interceptions and three clearances, and put in one cross.
The Brazil international joined Everton from Italian club Napoli in the summer transfer window.
Everton will return to action on Wednesday evening when they take on Salford City at Goodison Park in the EFL Cup, before facing West Bromwich Albion at home in the Premier League next Saturday.
