Joey Barton looks set to leave Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers in the near future.
Peter Reid has told the Daily Record that he is disappointed that Joey Barton’s move to Glasgow Rangers has not worked out as expected.
Barton joined the Ibrox side in the summer transfer window from Burnley, and the central-midfielder promised he would be the best player in Scotland.

However, things have not gone according to plan for Barton at Rangers – with off the field problems halting his progress at the club.
Barton has not played for Rangers since September, when he had an argument with Andy Halliday on the training ground.
After a series of meetings with Mark Warburton over his conduct, Barton is now reportedly (Daily Record) set to leave Rangers in the near future.
And Reid said: “I’m disappointed for Joey as a guy. I knew Joey as as lad so I’ve known him for a long time and his bark is definitely worse than his bite.

“He can be a bit controversial with some of his statements and he’s obviously upset people at Rangers.
“My overriding feeling is one of disappointment that the move to Scotland hasn’t worked out – for both sides.”
Barton played just five times for Rangers in total, and he failed to show his best form for Warburton’s side.
The experienced midfielder missed most of pre-season, and looked short of match sharpness when representing the Light Blues.
If Barton does leave Rangers, he has been linked with a move back to Premier League side Burnley.
