Former Everton defensive midfielder Peter Reid has taken to Twitter to give his take on Liverpool’s late penalty against Leicester City at the weekend.
Reid, who played for Everton in the 1980s and managed Sunderland, Manchester City and Leeds United among other clubs, believes that the late controversial spot kick that Sadio Mane earned was not a penalty.
During the closing stages of the Premier League game between Liverpool and Leicester at Anfield on Saturday, the 27-year-old Senegal international winger was adjudged to have brought down Marc Albrighton inside the Foxes’ penalty box, and James Milner did not have any problem in scoring from 12 yards.
Reid has stated on Twitter that he does not believe that it was a penalty, and the former Everton star has also taken a dig at Liverpool fans.
