Peter Ramage has taken to social networking site Twitter to give his reaction to Newcastle United’s win against Leeds United on Sunday afternoon.

Rafael Benitez’s side maintained their stunning run of form in the Championship with a comfortable 2-0 victory over Leeds away from home.

Dwight Gayle put the Magpies in the lead midway through the first half and doubled the advantage in the opening minutes of the second period.

Former Newcastle defender Ramage was following the match, and he was impressed with the performance of the Magpies.

John Anderson, another ex-Newcastle defender, was also following the game, and the 57-year-old was critical of Leeds.

“Leeds didn’t have anything – they were just a poor side,” Anderson told BBC Newcastle (15:12). “Same old, same old for Newcastle – they’re going to win the league and it could be all over pretty soon.

“Leeds didn’t have a standout player and you want to see Newcastle tested. We haven’t seen that yet – there hasn’t been anyone who’s tested us.”
