Newcastle United have won against Everton this afternoon.
Not many will have expected Newcastle United to win the match against Everton after they went 2-0 down in the first half, but Rafael Benitez’s side staged a stunning comeback in the second period to pick up all three points from the Premier League game on Saturday afternoon.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin gave Everton the lead at St. James’ Park after just 18 minutes, and Richarlison doubled the advantage for the Toffees on 32 minutes.
Newcastle halved the deficit on 65 minutes through Salomon Rondon, and Ayoze Perez found the net first in the 81st minute and then on 84 minutes to make it 3-2.
It was a remarkable comeback, and former Newcastle stars Alan Shearer and Peter Ramage have taken to Twitter to revel in the win.
The win for Newcastle against Everton also pleased Massadio Haidara, as his post on Twitter shows.
The 26-year-old left-back was on the books of Newcastle from 2013 until the summer of 2018 when he joined RC Lens in France.
