Rangers’ Peter Lovenkrands had been linked with a return to Denmark.
Rangers have seen Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers leave today, and they have had concerns about the future of one member of the Ibrox staff themselves.
Earlier this month, the Daily Record reported that Danish side Nordsjaelland were looking to lure Rangers youth coach Lovenkrands away from Ibrox.
The Superliga side will see manager Kasper Hjulmand leave the club this summer, and they had seemingly eyed up Lovenkrands for a move.
The 39-year-old was a Rangers favourite in his playing days before returning to Ibrox as an Academy coach in 2017.
Last year, Lovenkrands was named as Reserve Coach at Rangers, and his work in Glasgow appears to have attracted Nordsjaelland’s interest.
However, no move will be taking place as Nordsjaelland confirmed today that Flemming Pedersen will be appointed as Hjulmand’s successor.
Becoming a first-team manager would have surely been appealing to Lovenkrands, but that won’t be happening just yet – and Rangers will be glad to keep the former winger at Ibrox.
