Newcastle United beat Norwich City in a Championship thriller.
Dwight Gayle of Newcastle United shoots at goal
Former Newcastle United striker Peter Lovenkrands has expressed his delight at the club’s dramatic win over Norwich City.
The Magpies had been 3-2 down heading into the 90th minute, before they netted two injury time goals.
The win could have big repercussions come the end of the season, with both sides battling it out to win promotion.
Newcastle were inspired by Dwight Gayle who bagged a hat-trick, including the winner, with Yoan Gouffran scoring the late equaliser.
Norwich had seemed set for victory, going 3-1 up, with Graham Dorrans, Cameron Jerome, and Jacob Murphy putting them into what appeared to be a commanding lead.
The Canaries were top of the Championship table heading into this midweek round of matches, but have now slipped to second place, a point behind leaders Huddersfield.
Newcastle’s win elevates them to third, just a point behind Norwich, who could have opened up a seven point gap over the Toon had they won.
