Steven Gerrard’s Glasgow Rangers reportedly want Jermain Defoe at Ibrox on loan.

Rangers are on the verge of signing Defoe on an 18-month loan deal from Premier League club Bournemouth in the January transfer window, according to BBC Sport.
Former Celtic midfielder Grant worked with the 36-year-old striker at Bournemouth during the 2000-01 season, and he has spoken highly of him.
Grant told The Scottish Sun about Defoe: “There’s obviously a title race on — and Jermain is definitely the kind of player who can make the difference against Celtic.”
“Rangers have momentum after the impressive win over Celtic and a signing like this just fuels it even more,” added Grant.
“Deep down I DON’T want Jermain being that successful! But, seriously, I can see him doing very well for Rangers. The fans will love him.”

Stunning signing
Defoe may be past his prime, but the former West Ham United and Tottenham Hotspur striker will still be able to do a good job at Rangers.
The 36-year-old striker is a proven goalscorer, and he will bring a lot of goals to Rangers.
Alfredo Morelos is the number one striker at Rangers, who need someone else to bear the burden of getting the goals.
The signing of Defoe will also enhance Rangers’ chances of winning the Scottish Premiership title this season.
Celtic are still the favourites for the league title, but Rangers are giving Brendan Rodgers’s side a run for their money.
