Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool will face Rafael Benitez’s Newcastle United at St. James’ Park on Saturday.

Burnleys Peter Crouch looks dejected at the final whistle during the Premier League match between Burnley FC and Leicester City at Turf Moor on March 16, 2019 in Burnley, United Kingdom.

Burnley striker Peter Crouch has suggested in The Daily Mail that Newcastle United manager Rafael Benitez will not make it easy for Liverpool.

Newcastle will take on Liverpool at St. James’ Park in the Premier League on Saturday evening.

Benitez is a former Liverpool manager and guided the Reds to the Champions League title back in 2005.

The former Real Madrid and Chelsea boss is considered a legend by the Anfield faithful, and many will hope that the Spaniard makes it easy for Jurgen Klopp’s team on Saturday evening, as a loss will mean that Manchester City will win the Premier League title if they pick up maximum points against Leicester City at the Etihad Stadium on Monday evening.

Burnley striker Crouch worked with Benitez at Liverpool, and the former Tottenham Hotspur man believes that the Spaniard will not make it easy for the Reds.

Crouch wrote in The Daily Mail: “Rafa is cold and ruthless. If Burnley played Liverpool and I scored a goal to stop them becoming champions, I’m not sure how it would sit with me.

“Rafa, by contrast, will not have given a moment’s thought to the implications of a Newcastle win. He just wants three points.”

Meanwhile, former Arsenal attacking midfielder Paul Merson has backed Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah to bounce back from his disappointment against Barcelona.

The 26-year-old Egypt international star did not have a good game against Barcelona in the first leg of the Champions League semi-final tie in midweek.

Merson wrote about Salah in The Daily Star: “He doesn’t seem the type to dwell on it. He seems quite laid back.

“He could make four mistakes in a game but still not lose his confidence and end up doing something special.

“So I think he will bounce back against Newcastle. He is a strong character and Liverpool need him firing if they’re going to win the league.”
