Peter Crouch has shared a hilarious four-word verdict on his first goal for Liverpool, 15 years on from the day it happened.
The 39-year-old netted his first goal for the Reds against Wigan on December 3rd 2005 with a fortuitous, deflected effort at Anfield.
After watching his strike back, Crouch tweeted the following.
The Macclesfield-born ex-striker is clearly – hopefully – having a bit of banter, as it was far, far from a ‘cracking strike’ as he describes it.
The ball loops so high into the Merseyside air that it almost comes down with snow on it, before beating Wigan’s Mike Pollitt in goal.

Nevertheless, it must’ve been a huge weight off Crouch’s shoulders.
As the BBC recall, the ex-England international had gone 24 hours without a goal for either club or country when the 11th minute of this 3-0 win had passed – he must’ve been desperate for one.

Crouch went on to double his tally for Liverpool in the same game with a lovely dinked effort over the onrushing Pollitt, before being substituted to a standing ovation.
In total, the former Stoke City striker netted 42 goals in 134 games for the Reds. During his time at Anfield, the towering centre-forward won the Champions League, FA Cup and also the Community Shield.
