The big striker spent two years at Tottenham Hotspur during his senior career.

With Tottenham Hotspur hoping for another Champions League adventure this season, one man who played a huge role in their last stint among Europe’s elite, Peter Crouch, has reflected on his memories with Spurs in the competition.
The big striker, now 35, scored a late winner in a 1-0 victory away to Roberto Mancini’s Manchester City in 2010 which secured Tottenham’s passage into the Champions League playoffs.
There, Crouch went on to score a hat-trick in the second-leg qualifier with Young Boys at White Hart Lane, in which Harry Redknapp’s recovered from a 3-2 first-leg deficit.

The Stoke City forward also managed group-stage goals against Wolfsburg and Inter Milan, but it was his winner in the Lilywhites’ last-16 encounter with AC Milan which the former England international still talks about with supporters.
Spurs won 1-0 at San Siro, courtesy of Crouch’s goal, and they went on to hold the Italian giants to a 0-0 draw in the second leg which saw them progress into the quarter-finals.
“It was special. I still remember it fondly. Everywhere I go Spurs fans always come up to me and talk about Manchester City and AC Milan. Those are the two moments,” he told Tottenham’s official website.

They lost the quarter-final to Real Madrid, with Crouch sent off in a first-leg 4-0 defeat by the Blancos, who were managed by Jose Mourinho.
This season, Tottenham lost their Champions League opener 2-1 to Monaco at Wembley, but there is plenty of time for Mauricio Pochettino’s boys to turn it around.
