Liverpool defender Joe Gomez’s performance against Crystal Palace on Monday impressed Stoke City striker Peter Crouch.

The 21-year-old is a versatile footballer who can operate as a full-back or as a central defender.
The English youngster was deployed at centre-back in Liverpool’s 2-0 win against Crystal Palace away from home at Selhurst Park in the Premier League on Monday evening.

Crouch wrote in The Daily Mail about Gomez: “I always thought he was a full back but Joe Allen told me that his future was always going to be in the middle. He showed that at Crystal Palace on Monday night with a tremendous performance.”
